Always wanted to learn how to surf or to get a little better? Are you interested in Peru’s ancient cultures and visiting their incredible ruins? This full day Peru Surf & Culture lets you do both! Head south out of the city to Lima’s nearby beaches for a surf class before enjoying lunch in one of the villages located right on the beach and enjoying a guided visit of the impressive archaeological site of Pachacamac.
Peru has become the obligatory point of passage for surfers on worldwide surfing trips. Peru offers waves for everyone: beginners, intermediate, and advanced surfers. Lima, is also very attractive to surfers because of the variety of its waves. In addition to this, the greatest left-handed wave in the world is to be found at Chicama, which is over 4 km long.
Peru is, after Brazil, the second most important country in the region in this sport and surfing has become a very popular activity in Peru; particularly promoted by 2004 female World Champion Sofía Mulánovich.
Enjoy this very unique Peru surf tour, and get into Peru surfing and its fascinating culture!
This tour starts from $X per person, with 2 people in the group.
8 hours (approximately) from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Not available on Mondays.
Your Peru Surf & culture tour will start when we pick you up at 8:00am from your Lima hotel to drive an hour and a half* to one of the beaches south of the city. The destination will be chosen based on the conditions that day. Once at the surfing beach, you will be fitted with a wetsuit and board, and will receive on-the-beach instruction, theoretical instruction and get in some all-important stretching before hitting the waves with your instructor. You will be in the water for about an hour or maybe a little longer if you really love it and hopefully standing up by the end of the class!
After enjoying the Peru surf, we will head to a nearby, local village for lunch where you can try some of Peru’s amazing seafood and fish (if you like). Once you have refueled, you can have a quick rest as we drive the approximately half hour* to the extensive archaeological site of Pachacamac. Here you will receive a guided tour and learn about the history of this site which dates back over 1500. You will then return to Lima, and will be dropped off at your hotel.
